Fixing an old shower

My parents have remodeled almost every aspect of their house in the last decade. They got rid of the dining room altogether and had a bar installed. My dad definitely likes that! They painted the living room and had new furniture brought in. They have also bought new appliances and painted the kitchen. Even the bedrooms upstairs have all been renovated. Everything looks really nice inside. However, for some reason, they have not even touched their master bathroom. It still looks like a 1980s bathroom in there. The wallpaper is ugly and the floor is pretty old. I think my dad is going to be forced to remodel it soon, though, because the shower is leaking. I don’t know much about plumbing, but I know my dad has caulked that shower numerous times over the past few years and it seems to be still leaking all of the time. I think he knows the whole thing needs to be ripped out and done over. I gave him the phone number of a plumber in town that did a great job when I built an entire bathroom in the upstairs of my home. He did fantastic work. If my dad is serious about protecting his home from water damage, he will need all new plumbing equipment in that master bathroom. I hope he takes action sooner rather than later. If he waits too long, I’m afraid all of the hard work and money he has put into other areas of the home will be at risk. A simple phone call to a plumbing service could help avoid that.
