Cooking dinner showed me I have a HVAC problem

Some people tell me I am the best cook they have ever seen. Well, okay maybe they don’t say that, but a lot of people enjoy my food. I’ve actually had friends hire me to cook dinner for a party they are having. I take that as a huge compliment. One night, I was testing out a dinner plate that I was planning on serving at an upcoming event. I often tweak the meals I am going to make in a test session at my house. It was a pretty basic dish. It was just chicken, potatoes and a vegetable. Everything turned out well and it tasted delicious. I went to bed happy that night. However, when I woke up the next morning, I was disgusted. I walked downstairs and I could still smell the food I had cooked the night before. My husband noticed the smell, too. He said that it was weird and that he wanted to get the HVAC equipment checked. I had no idea what he was talking about, but it turns out that he was right. Our heating and cooling equipment was circulating air so poorly that food odors were lingering far longer than they should. He had an HVAC provider come in and tune our system a bit. Before I knew it, the food smells were gone. I also realized that our heater and air conditioner were working much better after the HVAC technician did his thing. It’s funny how you notice certain problems. Had I never cooked that chicken, we may have not noticed our faulty system for a little while.
